Roger Southwick – Bass Player

I became a Christian in 1980 and currently attend Cedar Mill Bible Church. I have been playing bass since 1979 and my current bass is a Ken Smith "Burner", 5 string, 24 fret bass, which I have had for over a decade.

I have been involved in many music projects in the past, most notably playing with the groups Macrofish (2004-2006), Rock Solid (2000-2004) and SandleFoot (1989-1994). I also currently play with the Cedar Mill Bible Church worship team as my schedule allows.

My musical influences: Paul McCartney, Stuart Hamm, Eric Clapton, BB King, Keith Green, White Cross, Kutless, Seven Day Jesus, Pivetplex, Michael W. Smith J.S. Bach, D.C. Talk, and many others.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Susan, a great son, Eric and two fantastic grandkids named Savanna and Christopher. I am currently a software engineer for Intel, at their Ronler Acres campus.

I became in Christian in the fall of 1980, when Jesus poured down His Grace and mercy upon me while I was dying during drug overdose one night. He saved me from my sin and saved my life that night. A miracle of God is the best way I can describe it today.

Being a Christian has not been "trouble free" or without struggle and pain. God has used my struggles and challenges to build my character and give me a deeper love for Him.  He has instilled in me a deep love for others and has given me the ability to apply His Word into their circumstances.  Most of all, He reminds me daily through the simplest things that He is God, He loves me and has forgiven all of my sins through His Son Jesus.   If He can forgive me, He can certainly forgive you.
