Hi everyone. My name is Bryan Jones and I play guitar in the band Chosen. Growing up in Pocatello, Idaho, I was the oldest of three children. It was Mom and Dad, my two younger sisters and me. I went to school and church and was just like the kid from Wonder Years with a typical suburban upbringing. I remember sleeping out under the stars with neighbor kids in the summer and listening to all the Motown hits of the early 60’s on my little AM radio. It was then that I began my love for music.

Since I didn’t have any brothers, I grew close to my cousin Bob who was two years older than me and also had no brothers. He lived about 30 miles away and we didn’t get to see each other too often. When we did get together we drove our parents crazy. He and I would go fishing, swimming, hiking or just hang out and laugh until our sides hurt.

One day, when I was about 12 years old, we went over to my aunt’s house and Bob was plucking out strings on his new Fender guitar and little amplifier. That was the Boss!! He began wearing boots like the Beatles and cutting his hair in the mop top style. I wanted to be just like my cool cousin Bob.

My parents agreed to buy me a guitar but they didn’t want to spend big bucks on an expensive instrument if it was just a passing fad. So they got me a Stella guitar from Sears. It was an acoustic guitar made out of wood laminate. The action was high and it was very difficult to play but I couldn’t put it down. I literally played it until my fingers bled.

As time went on, I got a Gibson SG and began playing in various garage bands and just being a teenager. I really had no spiritual life other than going to church whenever my parents went because it was the thing to do. I didn’t know that my Savior Jesus was calling out to me to have a real relationship with Him.

Soon I began doing the things that my rock and roll heroes were doing. Getting into all the wrong things. I had no direction and was headed down a long road, leading to destruction.

After 25 years, several disappointments and a failed marriage I finally got on my knees and recommitted my life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1995.

Soon after, I got plugged into a Spirit filled Bible teaching church and began my new life in Jesus Christ. Things aren’t always easy but they are better than they have ever been before. I’m now remarried and have a beautiful granddaughter. I love to play my instrument for the Lord now and know that I am saved and chosen by His grace to be His forever.
